dc.description.abstract This report was generated from various activities carried out at Willa Sub County with the main objective of giving hands on experience to students on different fields of agriculture. The major areas being handled during the practice were, the farmer field trainings conducted in the farms of demo farmers and at the Sub County Headquarters. Two groups of Perennial Crops (citrus mangoes) were visited and minimal trainings were given at the site, there was also an attachment made with the Women's SACCO, these handled the areas of budgeting and group dynamics. main objectives are to enable students carry out practical activities and projects in the field, develop interest in Agricultural Profession and better appreciate the intervention, acquaint students of the basic practices done in the crop and ups, the methods of knowledge and skills dissemination used during the farm visit included lectures, demonstration and brain storming. Some of the activities perform are; pest and disease identification, control and management in crops, weeding operation, management and identification of important varieties of citrus and mangoes. Other attachments made were demo garden visits at the bee keeping farm, fish demo sit and nursery demonstration site, involvement in the full council sessions. These learning visits helped me to acquire skills and knowledge such as; pest and disease identification and management, farm lay out for beekeeping and various forward and back ward leakages that can be emerged with bee keeping i.e. poultry farming for share of chicken droppings as feeds for fish, forestry that supplies the bee with nectar- Basically the activities carried out gives comprehensive understanding of what has been covered in class. However, some challenges were encountered during the practice which includes; poor time management by technical staff and poor turn up by the farmers in some sections, limited facilitations in sections like field trip, transport and SDA facilitations. Despite the challenges as rising as stipulated above, I am happy that the training ended successfully. en_US
