An outreach carried out in Arapai A village, Arapai sub-county from 12th/03/2021 to 16th/04/2021

Abstract

Community outreach that I conducted has been so advantageous to me as the upcoming Agriculturist in that I gained a lot of practical knowledge like carryout management practices in perennial production i.e. in banana and orchard production, making energy saving stove etc. as related to the theory we learnt in class. This activity was done in such a way that students were divided in to different zones in the community for easy monitoring and supervision where I happened to be in Arapai A zone where I was sub group in where my group had four homey Once again the activity was being conducted every Friday of the week from 8:am to 12pm. In addition to that, the activity benefited most of the farmers’ in the community since the main objective were focus on the transformation of the agricultural knowledge we had in class hence improvement in their farming methods and their standards of living. Though the activity was successfully done, besides are the challenges I met like long distance from the campus to the farmer's home, absence of some farmers during outreach day, inadequate tools and equipment's to be used, language barrier which hinders free interaction with the farmer.
