A report of industrial training done at Kapchorwa municipal council.

Abstract

I carried out my attachment at Kapchorwa municipal council local government in the production department. Kapchorwa is one of the districts in Uganda in the eastern region which boarders Mbale. It is a farm of decentralization of administration in the country. Kapchorwa municipal council local government comprises of many departments which include, production, administration finance, planning, health, works among others.

During the course of my industrial training, I was attached to the Kapchorwa municipal council which comprise of crop production and management animal production and management and veterinary department. I was attached to the district municipal veterinary office and which is department majorly concerned with animal health within the district.

In the inspection, techniques like hand pressing observing, sampling. Vaccination was thus carried out after data collection and analysis within the veterinary staff.

During the course of meat inspection and data collection I acquired skills which include; • Understanding drugs of choice like new castle vaccine Bl (the drug contains penicillin which are bacterial static) against new castle disease. • Understanding relationship between climate and poultry health such as humid poultry house and pathogen reproduction. • I learned new signs of various disease i.e., protozoa diseases, bacterial diseases, fungal diseases. • I had also to put theories into practical i.e., castration. • I also learnt how to associate with the farmers.
