dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract This report contains information on farm and community practice that I undertook for a period of ten weeks between 28th February, 2022 to 6th May 2022 at Agency for Community Empowerment Nebbi district with an aim of acquiring hands-on skills and experience in farming and community practice to get exposed to various farm enterprises and cultural beliefs, behaviors and norms of the community. While in the field I participated in number of activities that is; training on good agronomic practices of Bean, Cassava and onion, training on Saving with a Purpose, preparing Onion planting materials, Nursery bed establishment for horticultural entity, group conflict resolution, field monitoring. The methodology used were; Recording, Observation, Interviewing and demonstration. I learnt the following lessons; How to set demonstration garden using Pythagoras theory (a2 +b2=c2 where a— 3, and c=5), data collection and management, coffee processing using hurling honey processing using honey extractor. Below are some of the key skills attained: Riding, Communication and community dialogue, training and couching. In conclusion, the industrial training was successful though I encountered some few challenges; Poor Road network, unpredictable weather, poor attendance of meetings. and trainings by the farmers, late coming of farmers for the meeting, limited time for internship, long distance. I therefore recommend that; The organization to always provide the interns with protective gears like Helmets, riding suits and gloves during activities, I also recommend the extension staffs of the organization to put in more effort in farmers’ mobilization to enhance better diffusion of innovation, also recommend. the University to design the internship to correspond with the production calendar. en_US
