Abstract:
Internship started on Monday 28th Feb, 2022 were we reported to the farm (Cooperation and
Development Training Center) located in Alito - Kole and the farm is found in northern Uganda, the farm manager Mr. Ojok Joseph and his assistant Mr. Amuka oriented us about the farm where we were told more details about the farm and all we required to make us do our internship successfully. We were taken round the farm and shown the different sections in the farm like poultry, piggery, diary and goats among others. Throughout all the weeks we were in the farm, we were rotated in different sections where we were able to treat animals, spray crops and animals, watering crops, staking tomatoes, feeding of poultry birds and others. I Was able to participate in cleaning of the goats’ unit, watering of crops; treating the animals, was also able to gain skills like how to make a nursery bed, how to incorporate sails, identify pests and diseases in crops etc. What I have done has made me gain many skills which include skills of treating animals and all the routine activities to be done when you have your farm. During the working period, I faced same challenges like lack of cooperation among we the students, confusion on the exact number of weeks for the internship, inadequate tools to use and also some communication gap between the students and trainees because of language problems. I was able to finish the internship successfully and as I conclude I humbly request the campus to come out with clear dates for internship in order to make us do our internship successfully and to the Farm of C&D.
