A report for industrial attachment carried out in Moyo district veterinary headquarter.

Abstract

Internship is an industrial based practical training where students go and exercise what is studied in class in relation to their profession that prepare them for the role they are expected to perform upon completion of their studies. I happened to do my industrial training with Moyo district local government in veterinary section. The district is located in the north-western part of Uganda that bordered South Sudan to the north.

During the Internship, I was engaged in various le activities under the supervision of my field supervisor that involves activities like castration of piglets, vaccination of birds, amputation, diagnosis of peste des petits virus, meat inspection, disease surveillances records and treatment of various diseases that impacted me with practical skills and knowledge in relation to my professional work.

In conclusion, the training was successful completed amidst some challenges faced like poor road network, inadequate farm tools and equipment, poor time management by the farmers during community sensitization meeting and among others.

However, to achieve the maximum objectives of the training, I recommend both the department and university administration to reframe on some matters for instance supervision of student in the mid of training, provision of equipment for field works.
