Abstract:
The industrial training of the academic year 2022 stated on 28th/02/2022 and ended on
28th/04/2022. It was carried out in Arapai campus from Monday to Friday of every week and it took tens weeks. In chapter two orientation of the farm like cattle unit, diseases identification in goats like mastitis, treatment of sick goats using pen and strep, management practices like slashing and clearing bushes, management of small ruminants like spraying with acaricide, sampling and harvesting of fish using fish nets, repairing of cattle crush, management of citrus planting, watering green house, treatment of trypanosomiasis using diminazen, spraying of animals, castrating of male pigs, pruning of tomatoes, deleafing of tomatoes, weeding of coffee gardens, meat inspection, nursery bed management, management of apiculture. In chapter three lessons learnt, communication skills, skills in how to treat animals, how to spray with acaricide Spraying of maize, pests and disease investigation and management in maize. Challenges faced during the internship were lack of enough facilities, limited labor, language barrier, few sprayers. Establishment of pasture gardens, irrigation systems should be constant. Despite of the fact that other short comings were attained but I request the university to continue with industrial training since it prepares most students to the field of work.
