Industrial training (internship) carried out in Bududa town council on animal production sector.

Abstract

I compiled this report during my industrial training which began on 28th February and ended on 6th May 2022.The training was conducted for 10 weeks and it carried out in Bududa Town Council the chief Town of Bududa district in Uganda. The work was done under the supervision of Mr. Masaba Fred the field supervisor, Dr. Suzan Balibali the district veterinary Officer, Dr. Odong Felix the district production officer and Madam Nabulime Loy the academic supervisor from Busitema university Arapai campus.

This work was done to fulfil the requirement of a diploma in animal production and management (DAP) from Busitema University Arapai of theoretical work from lecture rooms in to practical in the field or farm management to learn and judge on the performance of different classes, breeds of animals and also different diseases affecting them as seen in chapter two.

I participated in animal treatment, meat inspection, animal dystocia, pasture management, castration, dehorning, vaccination against various animal and, poultry diseases, control of various parasites in cattle, milk production disease surveillance and learning problems faced by animal industry in Bududa Town Council as explained in chapter two. These activities were done out of proper time allocation and management as the supervisor was egger for me to learn much. I also faced some challenges d g the training and there are also challenges famers also face in Bududa Town Council as seen at the end of chapter Two and chapter three.

In chapter three, mainly shows the challenges I faced during my industrial training and also general challenges facing, animal industry in Bududa Town council.

Chapter Four indicates the assessment of field work like the benefits I got in the training, the influence of internship to my future career, reasons for the achievement of the internship objectives, recommendations and conclusions.

In conclusion Bududa Town Council is such a wonderful and potential place in animal production and on the other hand crop production is very significant or important and always do well. Therefor I would welcome most of the internees to have their practices from this place.
