Industrial training report carried out from 28th/02/2022 to 06th/05/2022 at Bweyale town council office under department of production and marketing.

Abstract

The field attachment IT was carried out from Bweyale town Council office of production and marketing located in Bweyale Town in Kiryandongo District along Gulu Kampala high road Rift valley road Bweyale cell central ward, from 2nd of February to 06th of May/2022. Chapter one; This describe majorly background/introduction of B.T.C they Bweyale Town Council it started as a Town in July 2009 with creation of Kiryandongo district where it was elevated to Town council from July 2010 accordingly and its ultimate vision of becoming urban Town in 2020 and 2025 according to its goal to provide excellent service to all B.T.C Chapter two; In this provide s the description of some activities carried out in the field, postharvest techniques of handling of grains and I learnt moisture content test, determining quality parameters on grains modern and traditional methods of drying grains. Seed fair and equipment distributions were seeds like nakati, sukuma, beans and tools like hoes, panga, and watering can be given. Pest and disease surveillance under this I learnt pest like fruit fly, control like use of pheromone traps and organic control methods on mango free fruits. Monitoring and evaluation of agro-inputs shops in B.T.C, I also learnt the quality operations standards of agro-inputs shops in B.T.C, precautions and their safety uses like keep them in dry place. Demonstration on soybean planting were field preparations were done, crops variety identified its spacing other different agronomic practices under soybean management. Chapter three; This IT gave me an impact were I learnt skills like crop spacing on soybean, different agricultural tool and seeds moisture content test on grains, proper handling and management of agro-chemicals etc. and this influence my career as an agriculturalist Chapter four; This describe conclusion and recommendation of my IT report and my conclusion was I would have remained unskilled if the university would not give us this wonderful programs to my career. My recommendation goes as follows in few areas I request the university to provide to all internship student token of appreciation and have strong co-ordinations between student and the university supervisor to ease the work that some few students not being supervised.
