A report on industrial training carried out in Kumi municipal council on animal production and management under local government from 21st May 27th July 2018.

Abstract

During my Industrial Training at Kumi Municipal Council in Kumi District I was attached to the Production Department under the supervision of Head of Production Officer Dr. Apolot Jane Frances. The main objective of this report is to summarize the various aspects of Livestock Production, Skills acquired and also to pass: the examination. Among the skills attained include; Meat inspection procedure, Vaccination of Pets; Identification and Management of Parasites, General animal examination, Disease investigation, Identification, Control and Treatment, Castration of animals, Identification and Management of Pastures, Treatment of sick animals, Determination of animal age etc. The Industrial Training was successfully conducted due to good cooperation with the Administration and Community of Kumi Municipality. I have also met and made new friends in the Veterinary and Production Departments. Finally, I recommend the Municipal Council Administration to continue lobbying for funds from donors so to purchase enough Vaccines, Practical equipment and other Drugs for Pets, Poultry, Shoats and Bovine. I also recommend the University to take students to the nearby meat inspection areas within the campus before sending them out for Internship.
