Abstract:
Industrial training is a course module. done by all students at the end of their first year where they are allowed to choose the place of interest, field supervisor is attached to them and also academic supervisor then at the end each student is expect to write and submit a report to the department of agribusiness and extension.
However, the industrial training started on 10th/06/2017 to 15th/8/2017, activities like meat inspection, castration and spaying pets, also castration of boar pigs, vaccinations, general treatment, eat tagging, deworming, farmers trainings, office work, etc. were done successfully.
These activities were carried out at Gulu district municipality local government, production and marketing departments, veterinary section in the four divisions i.e. Layibi division, Bardege division, Laroo division and Pece division under the supervision of field supervisor Dr. Lawach Julian.
This attachment was successfully done as it impacted to my career as it was a platform for transforming the theoretical knowledge acquired from. the classroom to the practical knowledge. However, during the training some of the challenges were encountered such as shortage of transport facilities, poor sensitization, long distances among others as indicated in the recommendation and I therefore concluded that the district should work tirelessly in order to address the above challenges in order deliver better services to clients so as to meet the expected goal in line with veterinary sector.
