Abstract:
The main purpose of the training was to gain more knowledge and skills based on the practical field experience on the farm. The training was based on both crop and animal production and management The other thing was to attain more experience on how to handle cases and to interact with the community as we are focusing towards achieving our carriers.
The following are the major activities I carried out in the course of the training: Orientation, Citrus production, goat and sheep rearing, mango production, poultry production, tomato growing, fish farming, maize production, onion production, groundnut production and greenhouse construction. The training was based on the technical aspect with the help of the field supervisor.
The training was also to enable us to transfer the information gained from the University theoretically to the community practically as we gained more experienced on our field of specialisation
During the training countered a few challenges like harsh weather conditions, shortage of resources and others.
Despite of the challenges I encountered during the training, I was able to complete the training successfully and therefore I would like to recommend that the farm should rectify the problems mentioned in chapter three above and others that my colleagues will raise.
