An industrial training report carried out at Ngetta zonal agricultural research and development institute (NGETTA ZARDI) in Lira city

Abstract

This report contains summarized industrial training report which was commenced on the 28th February, 2022 to 22nd April, 2022 and it was carried out at Ngetta Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute for a period of eight weeks. This report has four chapters as well as some sub-topic bellow them. The report contains details about introduction, historical background, location and present mandates as well as the objective of above training at Ngetta ZARDI. This explained the description of attachment of the report such as Agro forestry, germplasm (mother garden of citrus, and mangoes), Animal sections. horticulture, Adaptive research and Aquaculture which contributed to a lot of skills and knowledge for the betterment of my future building capacity. This chapter explains the impacts of the attachment like application of both skills and knowledge, to the trainee through participation in different practical aspects in the field of agriculture, skills gained like grafting, budding, spraying, management of nursery bed both in Agro forestry and horticultural cops, Animal management like treatment etc. Responsibility under taken like participation in various activities, influence of the attachment on my future career like capacity building on practical field work, and also correlation knowledge into practical aspect and challenge on countered like financial problem, shortage of tools and others. This chapter best explain some of the conclusion, recommendations of the above report. Therefore, I conclude by saying that though some challenges were encountered the training went on well with a lot of application of practical skills and knowledge gained Finally, I recommend that the institution should renovate old structure like cattle dip, provide accommodation, add missing section like piggery unit and so on.
