Report for industrial training carried out at share an opportunity Uganda-Abim field office Abim district

Abstract

Industrial training has been conducted in Abim district, Orwamuge parish, Bartanga village. it took a period of 10 weeks from 28th/02/2022 to 6th/5/202 at 8: 00am - 5:00pm from Monday to Friday, am doing DCP, the aim was to acquire more skill' and knowledge in field and sharing the one we learnt from school to the field, it has been in 3 locations i.e. horticulture, agro forestry trees nursery bed, monitoring and evaluation of farmers. Activities done; collecting data, irrigation of cow Pea, pricking out seeding, hardening off, planting cow Pea in line, root pruning. Objectivities of field attachment: to develop student's understanding of work ethics, employment demands and responsibilities, to enhance and strengthen linkages between Busitema university and the various stake holders, to enable a student get hands on experience real useful life situation a student expects to work in after graduation, to enable student to get an opportunity to apply the techniques and principles theoretically learnt into real life problem solving situations .chapter three challenges face Harsh weather condition i.e. long dry spell of drought and too much rain, Poor road network leading to farmer locations, Poor record keeping by farmer of the good they produce, Long distance to reached fanner in very sub-county Chapter four conclusion; with amnesty granted to me to conduct my industrial training at share an opportunity (SAO) Uganda, it has imparted to me much more with particle skill and knowledge, recommendation: to (SAO) Uganda, they should plan base on the needs of farmer not organization needs, organization activities must extent to other sub-county in Abim district not only two sub county, to the university; to encourage lecturers to do practical part of the course module not only during framer practice and examination period.
