dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract The training was conducted in caritas Moroto a nongovernmental organization that is founded and funded by Moroto catholic diocese charged with assessing the developmental plans of the people in that are within the districts of Moroto, Nakapiripirit, Napak and Amudat that comprise of Moroto diocese. During the training I did activities such as mobilization and sensitization of farmers on cereal banking, training of village savings and loans associations (VSLAs) groups, training of the shepherds on basic livestock management practices and sensitization of communities on environmental degradation refresher training of the community animal health works on basic livestock management practices, training of the community environmental groups on natural resource management, demonstrating and participating in the planting of maize and groundnuts and monitoring the crop performance of model farmers among other activities During the course of the training, I was also able to learn some skills that include interacting with the communities based on the fact that we participated in some of the above activities hand in hand with the local people. I also gained a skill on how to handle quick cases that need. quick responses, I also learnt skill like making energy saving stoves, cereal banking among Others, Although I was able to learn a lot from the training, I also faced some challenges during the training such as long distances to places for work; shortage of funds for mobilization and up keep for the farmers during the training accommodation was also a challenge and also there was a challenge of language barrier to mention but few. Despite the challenges mentioned above, I was able to complete my industrial training successfully. I would therefore like to recommend that the following areas be observed by the organization in order to make the industrial training run smoothly; need to purchase more bikes for field activities, need to employ more field staff, farmers should be sensitized on agronomic practices and bad agricultural. practices should be carefully considered and discouraged. en_US
