A comprehensive report on industrial training carried out at Ngetta zonal agricultural research and development institute Lira city

Abstract

This report consists of activities which were carried out at Ngetta ZARDI from the time period eight (8) weeks i.e. from 28th February to 22nd April 2022 and: contains. four (4) charters of which contains. the introduction to Ngetta ZARDI, location, historical background, vision, mission; mandates and core values including activities and structure of the organization. The main purpose of the conduction this industrial training was to equip trainees/students with the knowledge on practical skills to back up their theoretical knowledge in agricultural extension activities Carried out in different units. The units include; dairy production unit, goat unit, agro forestry, horticulture, germplasm (mangoes and citrus plantation), aquaculture, apiculture and adaptive research. Some of the activities were: cleaning, milking, treatment and feeding in goats and dairy units, budding and grafting in horticulture unit and among others. And the impact of the attachment during the training i.e. skills gained, qualifications, responsibilities undertaken, influence of the attachment on my future career plan and correlation of the attachment activities carried out with my classroom knowledge. The final chapter, highlights the conclusion and recommendations the management of Ngetta ZARDI and Busitema University. Lastly; the appendix which is the last part of the report consist of the work plan, photos of trainee in the field organizational structure, sketch map of Ngetta ZARDI.
