A report on industrial training carried out in Aduku town council, Kwania district local government, under production and marketing department.

Abstract

This booklet summarizes all the industrial training activities which I carried out at Aduku town Council under production and marketing department, crop sectors Kwania district. I located. in North part of Uganda. The industrial training started from 28/02/2022 to 06/05/2022 with the following activities in the work plan carried out include potting pruning of coffee plants, pest and disease identification in crops, training on parish development model, distribution of planting materials like seeds, cassava cuttings etc., planting demonstration sites in host farmers’ fields, field visit to farmers operating different enterprises, distribution of seedlings etc., under the supervision of District agricultural officer, With all the activities, much skills: knowledge and qualifications gained which includes gaining practical work in the field which are correlated to theoretical lecture. room activities, gaining leadership skills and confidence in communicating in public, training of farmers and interacting with other people etc., however some challenges like long distances, poor roads, and lack of enough transport means to reach fanners harsh climatic condition like drought, poor turn up of fanners for the training etc., in conclusions the training. went on successfully though some of the recommendation like facilitating enough transport means to extension workers, providing some of the inputs like pesticides to farmers regularly, sensitizing famers on different modern methods of farming to attain better yields.
