An industrial training report at national farmers’ leadership centre.

Abstract

The internship was: carried out at National Farmers Leadership Centre Kampiringisa. The Centre mainly focuses on citizen's mind-set through carrying out a number of trainings in mind-set change and transformation and the Saemuel Undong modal of development. The center also set up demonstration projects such as horticulture, mushroom cultivation, livestock in which the participants are trained about the different income generating projects and practices of agriculture. The internee got involved in a number of activities in all the department, where new knowledge and skills were acquired. In the mushroom department I was able to acquire new skills in cultivation of the summer oyster mushroom both in the modern way and also growing them locally. Also I learnt how to make mycelia from the mother culture using the PDA Potato Dextrose Agar solution. Livestock department generation of new knowledge on the rearing of pigs in the IMO structure and gained the skill of making the IMO liquid. In the horticulture activities such as seed sowing, planting, making of seedbeds were carried out in which I participated fully and was able to acquire skills in preparing the soil media for the horticultural crops when making nursery bed for them.
