Abstract:
The study was carried out in Osegge mixed farm with the objective of giving students a hand on experience in green house tomato production, open field tomatoes and onion production, passion fruits, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, bananas, paw paws, and oranges on commercial basis and, piggery and chance to stay in the farm during the recess 21st /May ton 7 July 2018.
Chapter one elaborates the introduction of Osegge mixed farm, the mission and objectives of Osegge mixed farm.
Chapter two explains the activities carried out which include allocation of plots, management practices in the green house, weeding green pepper, transplanting onions, weeding of onions, harvesting, nursery bed preparation of tomatoes, curling onions, mulching of tomato nursery bed, watering, of onions, planting tomatoes, staking tomatoes, gap filling, in both onions and tomatoes, planting of pumpkin, sterilization of the soil for onion planting, planting of watermelon, harvesting of water melon, pruning tomatoes transplanting Sukuma; pests and disease identification with their control measures in tomatoes, Sukuma, spinach, cabbage and weeding.
Chapter three talks about impacts and challenges that I faced during my industrial training at Osegge mixed farm in Soroti.
