Abstract:
This report covers all the activities of the internship program carried oat at Kaabong District local government (KDLG). The main objective of this program was majorly tailored at the partial fulfilment of the course requirements as well as for transformation of the theoretical knowledge learnt from class into field practice. This program was initiated with orientation meeting and departmental Integration of intern students and the major areas of learning included; participatory community animal and crop health service which encompassed Deworming and Disaster mitigation through dissemination of knowledge on agronomy of vegetables and sunflower basically organic farming and training of village actors on emergency response and environmental conservation. As a trainee this has greatly inspired my career development and fostered my interpersonal relations and it has instilled a motivate of being part of small dynamic team towards community development through enhanced developed livelihood skills significant of rural innovative assertiveness to fill the rural vacuum as change agents to consolidate the future. During this attachment there were a number of limitations that barred this program ranging from detrimental weather and community understanding of extension to departmental constraints therefore participatory involvement of interns in policy regulations programming and civic education is mandatory. The prevalence of a sustainable livelihood is a tactical desire for improved communities for better nutrition and household incomes, looking at the current state of the production and marketing department there is a great gap to be analysed to consolidate the core on efficient and effective service delivery, stake holding, and collaboration law, enforcement and donor policy management.
