dc.description.abstract This report is a completion of what I was introduced during my field attachment practice for the entire period stipulated in the course. The course is a partial fulfilment for the award of Diploma in Crop Production and Management. I trained with SORUDA in Soroti district in Eastern Uganda. During my internship, the main areas of emphasis during the training were; Mobilization of different farmer groups in Soroti, Kaberamaido district for sensitization and capacity building on Post-Harvest Lost Eradication(PHLE), Nutrition, Water and Sanitation, Good Agronomic Practices(GAP), Farming as a Business(FaaB), Village Saving and Loan Association(VSLA). These gave me a clear insight of what is involved in Crop Production and Management and also relating theoretical knowledge versus real life practical field knowledge as the main objective of the training. The knowledge and the practical skills during the training were acquired through; observation, sharing amongst the field staff and during field activity implementation and active participation through hands on. The working environment was convenient that I managed to interact with organization staff freely, plus lots of people I met during my training at SORUDA. The Agricultural Management Practices done during my attachment include; Vegetable Gardening, Seed Selection, Fertilizer Application Cultural and Chemical methods of weed control, Timely planting, and soil management practices. Some challenges however, were met during the training among these were poor turn up of farmers during trainings, Long distance since we had to move for long from Soroti to Kaberamaido district, weather changes, Farmers complains regarding the prices of silos to name them. Fortunately, I completed my training and I attained lot of skills with broad exposure of field tasks and practices, however, my plea to the individual who handle students in the field to be generous and avail the necessary knowledge and skills to them unselfishly. en_US
