This report presents the experience and skills gained during my ten weeks of industrial training undertaken at dynamic agro-pastoral development organization along kidepo road, Kaabong district. My training was in both fields of agriculture, animal, health and peace activities.
During the period, I gained practical knowledge and skills in the various fields of my training for example carrying outreaches on farm activities in the sub counties of Lolelia and kalapata, management of demonstration gardens around the organizational premises, and the activities carried were planting, watering, mulching, weeding, pruning in this demo gardens, inspection on the progress of kitchen gardens along the river banks of Kaabong district, meat inspection at Kaabong abattoir, tracking of the chili farmer activities in the three sub counties of Sidok, Loyoro and Lolelia under the integrated community agriculture and nutrition programme under the ( ICAN projects) and also, times were spent in the field to get hands on experience in using one of the monitoring and evaluation tool called an open data kit to capture information, promoting healthy wash practices for example good hygiene as a result of using clean water. Participating in the peace dialogue meetings in communities by disseminating the importance and how peace can be restored in Karamojong sub region
This report discusses the skills gained and experience gathered during the period of training, justifying the relevance of the scheme in equipping students with needed technical competence to thrive in the real world. |
