Abstract:
The internship was held in Kyotera District Kabiira Sub county for ten weeks. The main objectives of the industrial training were:
• To acquire practical skills in the field to boat the theoretical-knowledge gained from the class.
• To know how to identify farmer's problems and how to advise them on how to solve
• To know how farmers, carry out different agronomical practices in their localities.
• To know how agriculturists, produce good quality produce practically.
I carried out very many activities during the 10 weeks of industrial training and they include: selecting site for sowing maize, brooding one day old chicks, training of coffee, rehabilitation of old coffee gardens, applying nitrogenous fertilizers on passion fruits raising awareness among farmers about the' micro scale irrigation project, preparing potting mixture for passion fruits and coffee cuttings, harvesting coffee cuttings, controlling weeds using the power saving technology among others.
Industrial training was good because I managed to acquire very many skills for example, T gained skills on how to deal with farmers, I gained skills on how to brood one day old chicks, I gained skills on how to train coffee, I gained skills on how to empower farmers to continue quality produce among others.
The major challenge was high prices of fuel because we had to move from one place to another but we could be limited by the high price of fuel.
