Abstract:
This report explains the activities implemented from the start of the internship to the end and all begun with self-introduction and orientation on the terms and conditions governing the organization followed by introduction of staffs of SOCADIDO who were meant to guide me for the entire period of the internship after that a work plan was drawn together with attachment to the various fields i.e. the banana plantation and the field demonstration sites while in the banana plantation I was able to do activities such as pruning, mulching, desuckering, weeding etc.
Where as in the demonstration site I together with my colleagues were able to raise nursery beds of vegetable crops such as onions, eggplant etc. furthermore engaged in transplanting of the seedlings before the planting took place I and my colleagues participated in activities such as secondary tillage, field marking, creation of trenches. I and my colleague were further more engaged in the practically learning techniques such as grafting, layering, budding and compost making. Once in a while I and my colleague were taken out to the field to carry out field activities
During internship, I also faced some challenges e.g. delay of rains since the land was too hard to work at the demonstration site, shortage of working tools stronger source of sun heat. In conclusion all the activities were implemented and industrial training was carried out
successfully and I was able to gain a lot from it in line with my career. However, this concluded by recommending that the organization prepares in advance in case of farming activities to overcome challenges of delays that would arise in the middle of an activity at the time of I.T.
