dc.description.abstract Dry Land Integrated Development Project Kararnoja is government funded project through the office of the prime minister which aims at improving agriculture, livestock production and business development in selected districts within Karamoja sub region. Key interventions will also include improving social services in the fields of education and health. During my industrial training with DIDP K there were numerous activities carried out under agricultural sector which includes implementation of all agricultural activities at the block farms, school gardens, demo sites and learning centers this was delivered through Inspection of block farms, learning center and school gardens ensuring that proper agronomic activities starting from tillage, field marking, weeding, demarcation of plots, planting of crops, pest-control, soil conservation and fertilizer application are delivered professionally, Supporting the sector in carrying out seed germination tests, follow up distribution of agriculture inputs and ensuring that all the documentation is up to date, identification of 20 farmers with the help of parish community agriculture and environment workers. Ensuring regular visits to the farmers' fields to establish acreage, crop performance and provide the farmers with Oi1 field technical support, working with the cooperatives in preservation of farmers produce at the cooperative, recording of sales, compilation of profits and losses, visits to ongoing grain stores construction sites, appreciating and advising the cooperative beneficiaries on future management strategies, Skills, and qualifications gained like nursery management skills, supervisory skills; reporting skills and extension. Despite of all the activities clone there were some challenges encountered such as long distances coupled with harsh weather, inadequate agricultural inputs such as insecticides to aid in pest's control. Last but not least, in classr00m work we gain a lot of knowledge theoretically and at the field we put it. into practice, the attachment also had a great influence in my future career because I learnt practical aspects which would be my starting points in engagement in agribusiness, conclusion and I recommend the drilling of boreholes to the learning. center and farms to facilitate production of vegetables, tree seedlings during dry season. en_US
