An internship report carried out at UWEPO farm limited in Nyenga division, Njeru municipality in Buikwe district

Abstract

The industrial training is all about exposing students to practical aspects in the field of specialization. The industrial training was to expose the students to actual working environment and enhance students' knowledge and skills from what they have learnt from the class room UWEPO farm imparted good quality integrity responsibility and self-confidence safety practices and regulations in the field and the spirit of team work and good relationship between the employer and the employees. I attained various skills such as coordinating of the theoretical work and practical's bites of different activities like weeding techniques aquaculture, agroforestry, nursery bed management, financial management among other so as to accomplish the goals of the study and this influenced my thinking towards production. I also faced many challenges such as accessibility to some of essential basic needs because of distant trading centers. I had limited time for most of the enterprises to be learnt and this limited my learning. Unconducive environments also seemed to be a big challenge where by the study was affected rains since it was a rainy season, Lastly, Therefore, I recommend the company to provide a cheap and reliable transport means to the trading centers so as to ease transport and enable workers and trainees' access basic needs and requirements. All in all, the research was carried out successfully and was interesting in that I was able to attain my objectives of the study but I argue the university and the farm to corporate so as to ease the continuous and offering in places for other students as attachments.
