Report on industrial training (I.T) conducted in Caritas Nebbi

Abstract

This report analyses about Industrial Training a student under took at Caritas Nebbi. The training took a period of ten weeks beginning from Monday28th Feb 2022 to Fri 6th May2022.The main objective was to acquire skills and knowledge on practical activities of what was learnt in class. The student was attached to the department of Agriculture Caritas Nebbi. During the Industrial Training, the student participated in various activities and formally acquired skills and knowledge like training of farmers on crop husbandry and other agronomy i.e. onions and beans in Erussi, Ndhew sub county. Distribution of seeds were made in Erussi, Ndhew, value addition kit in Jangokoro. We were also involved in training farmers on group dynamics, enterprise selection, seasonal calendar, hazard-impact copying strategy, vulnerability matrix and taking of minutes during meeting etc. The training was also inconvenienced by poor weather conditions like heavy rainfall, poor response by farmer's i.e. poor time management, absenteeism among others, Conclusively, the training was successfully done with various skills and knowledge gained due to unending help from the almighty God and the mighty organization i.e. Caritas Nebbi alongside the university lecturers for further guidance offered to a student In the recommendation, the university (lecturers) should inform the students at least two weeks in advance when they are to supervise since at times students are engaged and committed in long distance filed, therefore to be aware hence preparations, The organization should strengthen sensitization and mobilization of farmers for the better services to be extended to the local farmers such that they improve on their Agriculture production.
