Abstract:
The internship was conducted at Busitema University Arapai Campus (BUAC) Arapai farm as the area of attachment for a period often (10 weeks) ranging from 20TH May to 26TH July 2019.
The purpose of internship was to equip students with practical skills, knowledge and
experiences on various aspects of crop and livestock sections.
Various skills were gained during the process of internship that included, disease diagnosis, treating animals, pests and disease control, brooding and chemical identification.
However, some challenges were encountered that include shortage of water, tools e.g. syringes, infected planting materials for citrus and bananas.
The staff of Arapai farm has the ability to train students to pursue different careers in the field of agriculture due to high professional profiles.
However, to encounter the challenges the farm needs to procure more tools for training to solve the problems.
