Abstract:
Industrial training is a practical module that exposes and equips students with a lot of knowledge and skills needed in the field of agriculture. It's always done by the second year students of certificate, diploma, agribusiness and the third year students of BSA. Students are handled by different field supervisors and technicians at different places of their conducts and attachment and assessment done at the end of the training. The training is always done for a period of two and a half months. I was attached to different sections both crop and animal by the farm manager with Mr. Muhindo as my main field supervisor with the help of other supervisors from different sections and I carried out different activities such as field marking, identification of different diseases , pests and parasites, feeding, cleaning , determining body temperature, Ageing, weight and others where I gained different skills like how to treat animals, disease diagnosis etc. and I undertook different responsibilities such as cleaning, feeding and others. In conclusion the training was successful although they were some challenges to some extent and I recommend the university to provide enough technicians, tools, drugs and others.
