Procurement planning and procurement performance in Pallisa district local government

Abstract

The study aimed at examining the effect of procurement planning on procurement performance in Pallisa district. The study was guided by the following objective: (i) to examine the effect of procurement methods on procurement performance in Pallisa district local government, (ii) to establish the effect of procurement budgeting on procurement performance in Pallisa district local government and (iii) to establish the effect of compliance with procurement planning procedure on procurement performance in Pallisa district local government. The study used a cross sectional research design and quantitative approach ,the study further used a close ended questionnaire and the data was analysed from which frequency tables, correlation and regression (mean and standard deviation) reliability ,viability results were obtained. The findings revelled that there is a positive and significant effect of procurement planning on procurement performance like open tendering ,request for proposal and request for quotation the study recommends that efforts to improve procurement planning and procurement performance in Pallisa district much depends on proper procurement planning that improves on the procurement performance . Finally the study concludes that there is a strong predictive power that the dimensions of procurement planning contributes towards enhancing procurement performance in Pallisa district.
