The study on contract management and supplier performance of Butaleja district local government was guided by the study objectives which included the impact of contract administration on supplier performance, the impact of contract relationship management on supplier performance and contract closure on supplier performance. The study established the extent to which contract management affects supplier performance of BDLG. Specifically, the study sought to determine the contract administration, contract relationship management and contract closure on supplier performance. The study applied a cross sectional research design and descriptive approach. Data was collected from 55 as a target population with accessible unit of inquiry being 48 respondents consisting of procurement, human resource, and production and administration departments respectively. Data was collected with close ended questionnaire and statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) was used for analyzing data from which frequency tables, descriptive statistics, correlation and regression results were obtained. The study findings revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between contract administration, contract relationship management, and contract closure on supplier performance of Butaleja district local government. The study therefore recommends that in order to enhance supplier performance in terms delivery time, quality delivery and cost efficiency, contract administration, contract relationship management, and contract closure should be adopted by local governments. |
