dc.description.abstract The study was about Procurement Practices and Performance in Tororo General Hospital. The study was based on the following objectives: To examine the effects procurement planning on performance of Tororo General Hospital, to establish the effect of contract management and administration on performance of Tororo General Hospital, to assess the effect of supplier selection on performance of Tororo General Hospital. A sample size of 197 was selected. The research employed a case study design focusing on both quantitative and qualitative research approaches Results of findings revealed Procurement Planning is part of the overall tool used in implementing the budget. This implies that the performance of Tororo General Hospital depends on how the budget is implemented and procurement planning is part of the overall tools used in implementing the budget. Findings from the field revealed that, majority of the respondents agreed that Procurement Planning sets in motion the process of acquiring products. This implies that Procurement planning is a factor which can affect or influence the procurement performance. He, who fails to plan for service delivery, plans to fail delivering services to the public The study concludes that procurement planning significantly influence performance of Tororo General Hospital. As a result of this study I have learnt that procurement planning is the major activity behind organization since procurements account for 70% of the entity`s budget. The study further affirms that contract management had a significant relationship with performance of Tororo General Hospital. The researcher found out that contract management is not directly related to performance of Tororo General Hospital The researcher recommends that it is very crucial that Tororo General Hospital does not under rate single sourcing supplier selection when conducting a procurement process since this will help the organization to gather valuable information that will provide valuable insights in the performance of procurement and the necessary input to find effective suppliers that will facilitate timely delivery of orders. en_US
