dc.description.abstract |
Industrial training is a compulsory course module for all first year students of Busitema University. It is carried out after two semesters of study. It is a module carried out to help students be exposed practical skills which involves visiting both public and private agricultural institutions such as research stations, district agricultural offices and animal farms. The main objective of the industrial training is to boost theoretical work with practical skills acquired during the study. It always takes place for a period of 8 to 10 weeks which is equivalent to two months. The study is carried out under the following activities;
• Visiting the organization to seek acceptance
• Preparation for the industrial training by meeting with the field supervisors to make a work plan on how to carry out the training and orientation.
• Conducting training in various practices
The key objective of the IT is to enable students apply the theory learnt in class and put into practice, get more knowledge and experience so as to work effectively with the community. |
