Abstract:
The industrial training from which this report was conducted, was at Bulago Stock farm in Bulambuli district for a period of eight weeks from 22nd august to 14th October, 2022 aiming at transforming theoretical knowledge into practical. The purpose of this training was to equip students with practical skills that are relevant to their respective courses especially in animal production and management. During the eight weeks period many activities were under taken and these included castration, dehorning, deworming, spraying, pasture conservation, pasture establishment, farm structures construction, feed mixing, disease diagnosis and treatment for example I participated in all sections under the supervision of the field supervisor and later supervised by the academic supervisor from Busitema University Arapai Campus.
Generally this report consists of four chapters; chapter one containing a brief introduction, background, location and organizational structure of Bulago stock farm, objectives of industrial training. Chapter two consisting the description of attachment and activities carried out during IT. Chapter three describes the impact of attachment with skills and qualifications I gained, the responsibilities I undertook, attachment to my future career, the activity core relationship to classroom knowledge, challenges I encountered during the industrial training period such as bad weather condition, language barrier, failure to issue work plan in time, tiresome work done and transport costs to the farm and solutions I derived to overcome the challenges. Chapter four
consisting of the conclusions and recommendation from the training however, I concluded that the IT was successfully carried out and in recommendation therefore the organization should recruit more workers, construction of milking parlour, cattle dip or spray race.
