Abstract:
This report is on industrial training which was carried out at Nadunget Sub-County in Moroto District local government, Karamoja region which is located on the Eastern part of Uganda from 22nd August 2022 to 14th October 2022. The report is for an award of
Diploma in crop production and management in Busitema University. This report has been made up of four chapters, chapter one contains the background, location, size of the institute, mission, goal, objective and organizational structure. Nadunget sub-county is located at Moroto district, Karamoja region and in Eastern Uganda,
Chapter two contains activities carried out in different parishes like, spraying vegetables, post-harvest handling training for farmers, plant and collection of veins from a sweet potatoes garden to multiply them at the vegetable unit of Mr. Lochoro, one of the lead farmers at the sub-county, pasture improvement management. Agro Forestry in nadunget sss where I participated in raising seedlings, root trimming, transplanting and even distributing to other sub-counties like Rupa Other activities included Multiplication Seed Foundation for seed treatment, seed testing, and lastly Horticulture whereby we carried out seed bed preparation, seeding and transplanting.
Chapter three contains problems faced during the training in the field e.g. poor transport, overcrowding of students, shortage of working materials and poor time and finally, chapter four contains the conclusion on the field experience.
