Industrial training report carried out at Beatrice dairy farm Rubanda district from 21/ 8/2022 TO 14/10/2022

Abstract

This report carried out at Beatrice dairy farm P.0.BOX 142 Kabale period from 22/08/2022 to 14/10/2022. The main objective of industrial training are to impact the students with the practical skills and to correlate the class work and the field activities. This report consists of four chapters. Chapter one consists of introduction, location, historical back ground, goals such as to be the leading producer of milk production in kigezi sub region and more so the future prospects are to introduce the cattle barn and the training school, and the organization structure and these are the board director’s, the manager, the assistant managers workers and causal workers. Chapter two consists of the farm attachment activities performed during IT and how they were performed such as pasture management practices like weeding, manuring, planting, cattle management like milking, dipping, feeding, disease’s control, bucket feeding. Record keeping like milk recording, weighing and goat and sheep management castration, deworming, culling etc. Chapter three consists of the skills such as deworming, skills, dipping, pasture preservation such as silage skills, Yogurt production and making fencing are some of qualifications gained responsibilities shopping and milk marketing and correlation. Ln this part the activities were related to class work such as in pharmacology such as deworming. Chapter four consists of the conclusion and concluded that the industrial training was very skillful and l encourage the students to allways participate in the activities for more practical skills. recommendations that is l recommend the farm to buy the tractor and solve the problem labour shortage and plant more pastures, more marketing to create market for yogurt, recommend the to plant legume pasture to improve on production of milk, more so the farm should provide lunch to the students to help them on food problem. More so this report consists of the appendix with table showing the industrial training work plan and some of the photos taken during my industrial training. Lastly this report is composed reference where l got information from the agricultural new edition text books by kimboa Joaquim.
