Internship report conducted in Kaberamaido sub-county Kaberamaido district local government from 26th June 2023 to 11th August 2023

Abstract

The production department at the Sub county in which I was attached has two staff members; the Animal Husbandry Officer (AHO) and the Agricultural Officer (AO). The department is responsible for the delivery of extension services, dissemination of improved technologies and implementation of Government programs aimed at increasing household food security and income. The mission of the department is to transform subsistence farming to commercial Agriculture. However, the activities in my work plan during my internship period were not only limited to the production department but also covered different assignments aimed at meeting the mission of Kaberamaido Sub-county. Generally, my typical working-day began at 8:30am by reporting to office and ended at 5:00pm either in the field or in office depending on my weekly time table.
