The study examined the aspect of the procurement planning on service delivery in Ngora District LG. The objectives of the study were; (i) to determine the effect of procurement practices on service delivery in Ngora District LG, (ii) to determine the effect of procurement policies and procedures on service delivery in Ngora District LG and (iii) to establish the relationship between logistics management and service delivery in Ngora District LG. The study used descriptive research design with a population of 40 commercial banks and a sample of 36 were drawn from administration department, procurement department, finance department, loan department and a questionnaire was employed in the collection of data. The findings showed that there was a positive effect of procurement practices on service delivery at (r= 0.006, F=0.003, p<0.05), procurement policies and procedures on service delivery at (r=0.281, F= 1.342, p<0.05) and logistics management on service delivery at (r=0.130, F=0.595, p<0.05). This therefore shows that there was a positive effect of procurement planning on service delivery in Ngora District LG. However, the study recommended that the local government stakeholders should also invest in training the technical staff on how to prepare and operationalize accurate procurement plans, and ensure that policy makers and leaders at lower local governments are involved while approving and implementing procurement plans enable them deliver effective services to the people they lead. |
