In Busitema University, underground aquifers are the main water sources. To meet the water demand at the Campus, water is extracted from these aquifers through pumping. Currently, the campus has a large and ever-increasing population due to the many courses. Due to the ever-increasing population Busitema University faces a challenge of intermittent supply of water to meet the needs of the students and the staff. The University relies on a single existing well that cannot fully supply the demand from the existing population majorly because of its reduced yield due to silting caused by the aging of the well (constructed in 1968). During the rainy seasons, hydro power is usually interrupted which affects water supply at the University for various purposes including sanitation which poses health risks like infections to students and staff. Therefore, the purpose of this project is to address the above challenge by using a solar powered system to pump water to the University halls and Library to supplement the NWSC supply system and the existing well.en_US
