dc.description.abstract The study was to find out the influence of classroom management strategies on pupils’ academic performance in the selected primary schools in Olio Sub County, Serere district. The study was guided by the following objectives: to determine the different classroom management strategies used by teachers, to establish the level of pupils’ academic performance in primary schools, and to determine the relationship between classroom management strategies and pupils academic performance. This study adopted a descriptive research design. The study population was 194 and a sample size of 130 was drawn using purposive and random sampling techniques. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview schedules. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics, the frequencies and percentages. The study established that CMS used by teachers were; class prefects/monitors, rules and regulations, and positive rewards to pupils. The level of pupils’ academic performance was low with low pupil lesson attendance. The study also noted there is a strong relationship between CMS and pupils academic performance. The researcher recommended that the primary schools should set appropriate classroom management strategies which if implemented would enhance pupils’ academic performance. This should be done through departmental meetings and necessary management support sought. The primary schools management should give information to all the teachers and pupils on the classroom management strategies the schools have adopted. The schools should in the same vein provide the guidelines to be applied when implementing the CMS. The primary schools should always strive to allocate more funds in their budgets to cater for academic related expenses. en_US
