This research report was about “Influence of Private Business on Teacher Attendance in Masaba
Sub-county Primary schools, Busia District, (2020-2022)”. Masaba Sub County was research
area. Questionnaire interviews & focused group discussion among others were used to collect
data. The objective was to find out how teachers with private businesses attended to duty; and to
identify why privates’ businesses attracted teachers.
Outcome was 78% had private businesses, most of these were irregular. The attraction was
failure to achieve greatest happiness for extended family life
Researcher recommends further research to improve income levels within teaching life from
within school and training. |
