Abstract:
This study was carried out on influence of school meal on academic performance of learners
in Okwang primary school, Otuke District.
Collection of data from 60 respondents of which 40 were pupils, 12teachers, 4 head teachers,
4 parents’ representative of the four respective selected schools, for the study.
The researcher used questionnaire, observation and interview guide to collect the relevant
date from a cross- section of the respondents.
The date was sorted, and presented in a tabular form for analysis.
The analysis revealed that school meals have significant effect on the behavior and
performance of learners in Okwang Primary schools, Otuke District.
From the findings, appropriate measures were suggested for implementation, these included
provision of school meals to learners and opening up food production project in the school to enhance pupil academic performance and retention at school in Okwang primary schools, Otuke District.
