dc.description.abstract The purpose of the research was to establish the relationship between sex or gender and learning of mathematics in Buyinja primary schools. Buyinja is most suitable for this research study because of the much interest parents have in taking their children to school. Yet much as the government has tried to improve the welfare of teachers by increasing their salaries, paying teachers on time and providing improved accommodation, the performance of pupils especially the girl-child in mathematics at primary leaving examination has continued to deteriorate. The investigative study found out that most of the girls in primary seven classes in Buyinja Sub County did not favor learning of mathematics. The most important reason raised was pedagogical, culture and teacher factor. en_US
