dc.description.abstract The street lighting system designed is used to minimize manual switching on and off of streetlights during night and day respectively. The system also reduces on the high power cost incurred due to wastage by streetlights during day. The main aim of the project was to design street/compus lighting using a photosensitive switch. Its objectives were to; study the requirements for the system, design the system and test and validate the designed system. The physical design started with laying out the components on the breadboard and soldering them to create connections among them. The system was analyzed and it is able to monitor automatic switching off and on of street/campus lights using LDR. Different modules of the system were then brought together to see that they still perform the required tasks without any significant drop in the level at which they perform these tasks. en_US
